Campaigns Business Administration Apprentice - London

Brief overview of the role

The Children’s Society campaigns to improve the lives of children and young people. We listen. We support. We act. Because we believe no child should feel alone. This apprenticeship role will give the successful applicant the relevant skills and knowledge needed to deliver creative and effective campaigns to improve young people’s lives.

 

  • Conduct research in a variety of ways.
  • Communicate effectively and work together with staff across the organisation, including practitioners and youth engagement and campaigns teams, to make sure a range of views are included in plans.
  • Help to plan events, focus groups and meetings.
  • Support the design of new ideas that involve young people in our campaigns in a safe and empowering way.
  • Support the creation of messaging and materials to inspire young people to support our campaigns. Support the delivery of compelling, high-quality, creative and effective campaigns that lead to proven change in children’s lives
  • Play an active role in the day-to-day work of the campaigns team. Build organisational capacity to campaign effectively.
  •  Provide support for the project, including organising meetings of staff across the organisation; writing meeting agendas and notes and updating plans. 8.
  • Carry out regular monitoring and evaluation of the project. Support high-performing campaigns team 9
  • Respond effectively to enquiries, queries and requests from a variety of people, using telephone, post and email.
  • Assist the Campaigns team members and the wider External Affairs Directorate in their work activities, as agreed with the National Campaigns Manager

  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal Managing own priorities
  • Ability to work with range of staff across number of disciplines
  • Time Management

Personal qualities

  • Passion for creating change, ideally with experience of campaigning
  • Ability to work independently and to be proactive
  • Ability to effectively work with people from various backgrounds
  • Good communication skills
  • Ideally will have GCSE Maths and English grade 4 / C or equivalent
  • Willing to work towards a level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship
