Seasonal Hospitality Team Member - Swanage, Dorset

We are looking to recruit a Team Member at YHA Swanage. This is a seasonal opportunity for 25+ hours per week to the end of October 2023.

YHA Swanage is a large, sea-facing Victorian villa, situated five minutes' walk from the award-winning beach of Swanage – the only Blue Flag beach along the entire Dorset Jurassic Coast. The hostel has been recently refurbished and is now better than ever. Our hilltop location gives the front facing rooms spectacular panoramic views of Swanage town and bay. Swanage town often holds music festivals, art weeks and the Swanage Carnival every year. The Jazz Festival (July), Folk Festival (September) and Blues Festivals (March and October) are extremely popular!

What will you be doing as a Team Member?

• working on reception, providing information about the hostel and local area
• carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties
• preparing food in the kitchen
• cooking and serving food 

What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Team Member?

We value lived experience just as much as previous skills and knowledge. We offer a robust induction, ongoing training, and further development, however, some of our roles will have further skills requirements. It’s an advantage but not essential that our team members have experience volunteering or working with other people.

Duties vary so good communication skills and basic IT skills are advantageous. Excellent time keeping is essential.
