Senior Sous Chef -​ Moor Hall Hotel & Spa, Sutton Coldfield

We have an exciting opportunity to join our kitchen team as  Senior Sous Chef.

Our busy kitchen simultaneously serves two restaurants – The Oak Room with 2 rosettes and The Country Kitchen, our carvery restaurant – plus banqueting for up to 200, 70+ weddings a year, conferences and bar food.

We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef to support and strengthen our friendly team. The role offers opportunities to demonstrate cooking, leadership and management skills.

As Senior Sous Chef you must ensure the high standards are met and maintained by all and be able to demonstrate high levels of attention to detail and pride in the dishes that you produce. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, enthusiastic about working with fresh produce and have the ability to control the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef. Responsibilities will include training, developing and motivating the team, health & safety, day to day shift running, stock ordering and assisting with stock management.

You will have experience of working in a similar role in a hotel environment, a minimum NVQ3 in Professional Cookery or similar, a sound knowledge of health and safety systems and a flair for menu preparation, food presentation and delivery. Good communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional food are essential.
