Purpose of the role:
Your role is to deliver a fantastic M&E operation, working closely with your manager.
You ensure that the conference and banqueting department consistently offers the highest professional standards of service for our guests and maximizes profitability.
You achieve this by leading shifts and running various events from planning through to welcoming guests, delivery and then the farewells.
Key Performance Indicators:
Commercial
Support the Achievement of the budgeted payroll percentages
Support the Achievement of the budgeted revenue target
Support the Achievement of bar spend and wet targets
Support the Achievement of 1000 comment cards with clean data entries per annum
Brand
Support the Achievement of the targeted Guest Rate /Revinate Score
Support the Achievement of the targeted Venue Verdict Score
People Engagement
Support in creating an engaged team through development opportunities, reward & recognition and a culture of team work and support.
Responsible for:
Ensure that you meet and /or exceed your own personal objectives.
Deputise for the Meeting & Events Operations Manager on an adhoc or regular basis, as directed.
Liaise with the sales team to offer solutions and always be ahead of the game.
WOW conference guests with your enthusiasm and attention to detail from welcome to farewell.
Set up and service meeting rooms to specified requirements, always with a keen eye for detail.
Be technologically savvy; to be able to operate and demonstrate AV equipment safely and efficiently.
Ensure that all M&E equipment is stored correctly and safely
Have a passion for F&B; serve with confidence and flare and utilise your own knowledge of upselling at every opportunity.
Coach team members to deliver excellence
Participate in ensuring that the department and team members operate and comply with all statutory requirements.

Be a team player; support the team and take pride in doing so, together we maximize profitability.
Get involved in the financial performance and targets to assist in the overall profitability of the department. Liaise with the M&E Manager to review departmental performance against budget.
Regular attend your 1:1’s and performance reviews, discuss improvements in performance with M&E Manager and produce an action plan for implementation.
Actively take part in the joint setting of the teams objectives and action planning to achieve these objectives.
Welcome change and support management and team members – participate in the positive development of vibrant culture.
Conduct, review and evaluate statutory requirements/performance in the department by way of training, coaching, audits and self-regulation as instructed by the M&E Manager/Team Leader.
