We have a great opportunity for an experienced "Sous Chef" to join Vacherin and work at one of our prestigious sites based in Central London.

Salary: £34.000 per annum
Contract: Full-Time
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week

About Vacherin
Vacherin is a boutique London-based contract caterer. We operate 100 contracts on behalf of our prestigious business and industry clients within the sectors of property, finance, law, media, and education. At Vacherin, we aim to keep delivering deliciously different experiences, having fun, and offering remarkable food and service at the heart of everything we do.

You must be:

  •  Passionate about food who enjoys working with local, seasonal food
  •  Comfortable running the kitchen operation and responsible for managing the kitchen and the kitchen team staff.
  •  be able to help order and control food stock
  •  be able to support Food Safety & H&S
  •  have at least 1 years’ experience as a Sous Chef

Key responsibilities:

  • To produce food, which is seasonal, of known provenance, and locally sourced in a timely fashion to ensure smooth service to the customers.
  • To prepare and oversee food preparation to the highest standard and in line with Vacherin’s style.
  • To assist the Head Chef in developing and planning menus that align with client and customer expectations.
  • To communicate with the relevant parties all requirements for planned menus and order necessary ingredients.
  • Work with the Head Chef to deliver all budgetary targets on-site through a thorough understanding of GP, GP%, selling price, cost price, margin, mark up and calculation of menu costs through recipes
  • Overall responsibility in the Head Chef’s absence for managing the kitchen team, ensuring that they are all aware of Vacherin standards and carry out their jobs in line with those standards
  • Attend to customer needs politely and helpfully, providing assistance where necessary in line with the CH&CO style and responding appropriately to any customer queries or complaints taking responsibility to resolve where necessary
  • To seek customer feedback during service and use the information to develop the food and food service offering on-site.
