Working With Us

What we expect from you

Life moves fast at Thomas Cook.

But that’s hardly surprising. Every year 23 million customers choose to have their holiday with us. You’ll make sure it’s one to remember – by ensuring that everyone’s safe, comfortable, relaxed, and really enjoying themselves at every turn.

We trust our people to act with professionalism and respect towards our customers at all times. Yes, they have fun. But they never forget they’re working, and that they’re there to help others have a brilliant holiday – not be on holiday themselves. They’re alert, professional, and ready to help at all times.

What you can expect from us

First and foremost, you’ll enjoy an exciting new way of life with a whole new group of friends. But we’ll also make sure you’re well looked after. We’ll provide you with emergency medical cover, and pay for all of your flights to and from the resort, as well as accommodation while you’re there, plus your uniform. Which means you’ll even have a chance to save some of your salary.

To top it all off, we also offer discounted travel for you, your family and friends, including discounts on flights, car hire, travel insurance and foreign exchange.

How we’ll develop you

Then there’s the development. Our overseas destinations are a great place to launch your career in travel, and learn all about the industry. You only have to look at how many senior managers we have here at Thomas Cook who started out as Reps, to see what a good route into the sector it is.

The development begins with seven days’ training before you go to your resort. And training out there too, every month. When summer’s over, there’ll be lots of opportunities to stay with us, developing your career overseas, or changing direction and moving to one of our retail outlets, or to Head Office.

If you want to build your career overseas, there’s a very structured development programme you can follow. It’s called ‘STEP Up’. You’ll be able to follow a clear path that will see you move from Rep, to Head Rep to Destination Manager. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to lead a sizeable overseas team, at the heart of a company where the pace of change never slackens.
