At the heart of our hotels are of course of people who through their vibrancy and energy bring our properties to life. We are now seeking a team of diverse and dynamic individuals that will capture the very essence of the Standard London to join our team as an Events Coordinator.

Your role

As an Events Coordinator, you will become part of our small inhouse restaurant reservations sales team and you will take care of all group & party bookings in our restaurants. You’ll be one of our guests’ very first points of contact, responsible for handling a range of Event enquiries including bookings over the telephone, over email or via one of online restaurant booking partners. In addition to bookings in our restaurants and private dining areas, guest will also be able to book our suites for exclusive private party use from dinners & cocktail parties to small fashion shows and press junkets.

With overall responsibility for our Special Events function you’ll provide an important link between the reservations and operations team and will undertake a range of reporting and event coordination duties Including communicating special requests, dietary need and table plans in conjunction with our Restaurant teams. You’ll also work closely with our Restaurant managers in order to plan, manage and forecast covers for each service session to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in order to deliver a seamless and effortless level of service.

You will have a natural affinity for our unique brand and hospitality and will be able to connect instantly with our guests in order to understand and accurately capture our guests’ requests, providing information on our restaurants, menu options and group bookings to identify future selling opportunities and any unexpressed wishes. You will help create a dining experience where you will not only delight our guests, but also excite and surprise them to create the ultimate guest experience in London; that is anything but Standard!

Most importantly, you are a host making our guests feel welcome whilst they visit The Standard and our energetic and vibrant city; so, you will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high volume, high energy environment and can manage both detailed administration tasks and guest with ease.

Do you have what it takes to be an Events Coordinator at The Standard

While prior experience as an Events Coordinatoris always useful; we are not looking for a traditional Meeting organiser; you will have however an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests that enable us to not only pre-empt needs but foresee desires. In addition to this you will also need….

  • Prior experience as an Events Coordinator or Restaurant Reservations Agent with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ or boutique Restaurant or hotel sector
  • In addition to those with experience we are actively seeking candidates with a diverse range of lifestyle skills and welcome applications from those in the arts, music and entertainment industries.
  • Highly social, motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
  • You will also need to be highly organised with great attention to detail, with a natural ability for sales
  • Opening experience preferred
  • Prior experience using Opera, Seven Rooms, Delphi, Squirrel is advantageous however full training will be given
  • Fluency in English is essential for this role, in addition to those speaking a second or third languages
  • You will need to have a flexible approach to working hours with the ability to work shifts, including occasional weekend cover.
