Purchasing Manager - New Opening - The Standard London

At the heart of our hotels are of course of people who through their vibrancy and energy bring our properties to life. We are now seeking a team of diverse and dynamic individuals that will capture the very essence of the Standard London to join our team as a Purchasing Manager.

Your role

As the Purchasing Manager at the Standard London you will oversee a specialist team that provides a dedicated purchasing and procurement service for the hotel and our collection of our F&B outlets which include high-volume all-day dining, late night lounge, busy cocktail bar and grill, garden and roof terraces, plus our exclusive destination restaurant on our top floor.

You will work closely with a wider F&B team and be responsible for sourcing suppliers and coordinating orders on behalf of our departmental teams to ensure that par stock levels are maintained across the business. With a meticulous eye for detail you never miss a thing, ensuring that all orders are within operating budgets and that suppliers’ offer the best negotiated prices for all products; that is far from anything but Standard!

Most importantly you will ensure you and your team adopt a flexible and hands-on approach with superior communication and negotiation skills to manage a host of supplier relationships on behalf of the business. So it goes without saying that you will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high volume, high energy environment and can manage relationships both suppliers and your colleagues with ease.

Do you have what it takes to be a Purchasing Manager at the Standard.

While prior experience as a Purchasing Manager will always be useful all are welcome at The Standard so your background may be less conventional; you will have an uncompromised and natural flair for negotiating a deal and be able to build genuine relationships with our suppliers. In addition to this you will also need….

  • A proven track record in a senior Purchasing or Procurement role with the ability to inspire and motivate a small team, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ multi-site restaurant or multi-outlet hotel sector
  • An exceptional knowledge or Food & Drink products, services and emerging trends
  • Highly motivated and pro-active; act with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
  • Have exceptional administration and organisation skills with great attention to detail combined with a natural ability and passion for Purchasing.
  • Opening experience preferred
