The Bird In Hand is the second of three restaurants for restaurateur Jasper Gorst. Following on from the success of The Oak in Notting Hill, Jasper set out to find another stunning site to inspire his creative talent and love of great food and wine. The restaurant operates a no-reservations policy in the evenings & at weekends but we can take bookings for Weekday Lunches 12-3pm and in our Private Dining Room.

When Jasper took over The Bird in Hand, it was a beautiful building in need of a new lease of life. Set in the heart of Brook Green, Kensington, it has successfully grown into a gem-of-a-restaurant with a great team of staff both on the floor & in the kitchen.

With terracotta hues, the unique décor combines restaurant functionality & stylish furnishings – the horseshoe bar placed in the centre of the restaurant creates a lovely atmosphere.  The charming staff provide efficient & attentive service to ensure that it is a favourite for locals & visitors alike.

The Bird in Hand is always able to meet the requirements of those who frequent it; during the day find customers mixing business with pleasure, or pleasure with pleasure – ideal for all who love to “lunch” & the West London Freelancers; in the afternoon you’ll see those needing a post-5pm rest bite or a glass of something before facing the commute home; and for dinner delve into the bustle of evening service, enjoy the epitome of relaxed dining by sharing some small plates & big pizzas.

Wine List

Our Wine List has been developed by Operations Manager Aby Scott who has been involved with the opening of all our sites and has worked with Jasper for over 12 years.  She has worked in the London restaurant industry over 20 years and has built relationships with a variety of wine suppliers which has enabled her to write such a creative & eclectic wine list.

Private dining

Our private dining room located on the first floor is available for private hire, seating a maximum of 20 guests.  The room can be booked for lunch or dinner any day of the week and is perfect for a business meeting, a celebratory meal with friends or hosting special family occasions.
