The Newt in Somerset

The Newt in Somerset is a country estate with ancient woodland, historic gardens and far-reaching views; a new and unique destination with luxury hotel, spa, restaurants and an abundance of homegrown produce. Visitors can take a tour of the gardens, deer park and cyder press, dine in the Garden Café or browse our farm shops. Attracting some 200,000 visitors per year from all over the world, our vibrant and thriving garden attraction is animated throughout the seasons by special events, workshops and educational programmes.

Visitor Attraction Chefs

Seasonal and fresh produce is at the heart of what we offer at The Newt in Somerset. Our Food and Beverage offerings cover a multitude of outlets across the Visitor Attraction, in an area known as Area 1. This includes our Cyder Bar, Gelato Room, pop ups and Garden BBQs.

 

The dishes offered will be created to eat on the go – think slow-cooked meats, stunning salads, beautiful BBQs and high-end picnics.

Our Commis Chefs

Our Commis chefs are key to our operation in a busy, high-energy department. Taking directions from senior chefs, our commis chefs assist in running our kitchen, BBQs and gelateria.

Skills and Experience

  • An interest in food, experience is preferred
