£28,000 per annum plus fantastic benefits

40 hours per week, Monday - Friday - based onsite

The Newt in Somerset is a country estate with ancient woodland, historic gardens and far-reaching views; a new and unique destination with luxury hotel, spa, restaurants and an abundance of homegrown produce. Visitors can take a tour of the gardens, deer park and cyder press, dine in the Garden Café or browse our farm shops. Attracting some 200,000 visitors per year from all over the world, our vibrant and thriving garden attraction is animated throughout the seasons by special events, workshops and educational programmes.

Our Hospitality Operations Co-ordinator

With direction from the Commercial Manager & Director of the Hotel and VA, you will be responsible for the operational support to the Hotel and VA teams, to ensure that the operations can consistently deliver a guest experience of the highest quality. Working with the Senior Operating team on the departmental inductions, training of their teams, recruitment processes to ensure that all new recruits are integrated seamlessly into the business and that the high training standards are maintained. You will be champion of grooming standards and uniform for the business with assistance from the HR department. You will be responsible for driving ‘The Newt Way’ across the business.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving The Newt Way across the business
  • Hotel uniform management & enforcing of grooming standards
  • Co-ordinating the pre-ATR process
  • Assisting in recruitment
  • Harri champion
  • Supporting & streamlining training within the ops team
  • Assist in the creation & implementation of departmental inductions
  • Systems administration

Skills and Experience

  • Willingness to develop, grow and keep up with the demands of our developing business
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Great time management and self-motivated
  • Passionate about all things Newt
  • Driving licence
  • Good knowledge of systems (ResDiary, Sage, Acuity, EMC, R+A)
