Shift Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Shift Engineer, to join us here at The Hoxton Holborn. 

Reporting to our Maintenance Manager, You will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the hotel are maintained to the highest standard and providing a helpful and responsive level of service for our guests.

Main Responsibilities

• To provide the highest level of customer care in both public areas and back of house.
• To assist the Maintenance Manager in the maintenance of all areas of the hotel, including following up feedback from guests and colleagues.
• To aid and assist in the control and monitoring of maintenance stock.
• To aid and assist in all aspects of monitoring of standards of bedrooms, including the pro-active maintenance programme.
• To ensure that all projects that are carried out on a monthly basis.
• To use the KnowCross system to assist in prioritising maintenance tasks.
• To ensure that all Health and Safety standards are adhered to and any breaches in standards are reported to the Chief Engineer.
• To maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times, even when working to find solutions to challenges.

We Want You If…

• You have hotel or leisure related experience in a similar role.
• You have a high level of verbal and written communication skills and competent computer skills. 
• You have a working knowledge of electrics, plumbing, and various maintenance skills.
• You have the ability to build relationships with colleagues and customers.
• You jump out of bed every morning, fizzing with energy and jazzed about what you’re doing today
• You get us. You know our hotels, you’ve hung out in our bars and possibly regretted that last cocktail the next morning.
• You get stuff done.
• You’re not precious. You appreciate some ideas work and some don’t. But we do like to try (almost) everything once.
• You are humble.  There are no egos, and no drama.
