Sous Chef - Horsham

An opportunity has become available to join our team as sous chef at The Crabtree in Lower Beeding (West Sussex).

This is a chance for a strong Chef de Partie/Junior Sous Chef to progress to the next level.

Our ethos is to use the finest seasonal and free range ingredients and let them speak for themselves in the food we produce.

At The Crabtree our produce is sourced direct from the farmers and growers where possible but ensuring the providence and quality we require. All our suppliers are passionate about their product which we treat with care to produce classic and quality plates of food.

All food is prepared in house along with curing fish, smoking and pickling for example

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Running the kitchen when the head chef is off
  • Menu planning and development
  • Managing food purchasing and stock rotation
  • Staff training
  • Health and safety and hygiene practises
  • Stock takes

We are looking for a Sous chef with real ambition to develop their skills and join our family run independent pub which is now in its 6th year.
