We are currently seeking a passionate Baker Sous Chef to join the pastry team here at The Carlton Tower Jumeirah.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Baker Sous Chef Chef to head up the preparation and sole ownership of bakery offerings at The Carlton Tower Jumeirah. Working as part of a larger bakery and pastry team. 

  • To organise and set up the assigned section of the kitchen and prepare dishes as efficiently as possible to increase speed and maximise productivity.
  • To ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and according to standard recipes.
  • To prepare list of product/food items required for the next day and submit to the Chef in charge.
  • To prepare list of tasks for mis en place for the chef on the following shift before going off duty.
  • To always control the quality of the product you use and report any discrepancy to the Chef in charge to ensure consistent freshness and quality.
  • To constantly maximise the quality and presentation of dishes

The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar position within a luxury 5 star environment
  • Excellent level of English
  • Excellent communicator and able to connect with all levels in the business with the ability to motivate your colleagues.
  • Effective organisational skills; able to prioritise tasks and self-manage a workload
  • Excellent personal presentation with a warm and welcoming personality.
  • Friendly, approachable and professional
  • Have a strong eye for detail
