General Assistant & Floor Waiter/Waitress - The Village Pub

We are looking for a Full time General Assistant and Floor waiter/waitress to going the team at The Village Pub in Barnsley Village.

Across the road from Barnsley House, The Village Pub provides a relaxed pub atmosphere, serving delicious food, great ales, open fires and comfy seating. It boasts a fantastic array of local ales, crackling fires, a menu that is hearty, gutsy and simply to drool for. There are also six well-dressed bedrooms providing the complete luxury overnight stay.

Reporting to The Village Pub Manager and working with the pub team, the main responsibilities will be:

• Assisting the restaurant team with the smooth running of the restaurant
• Gaining knowledge of all of the food product and drinks sold in the village pub
• Assisting the Village Pub Supervisor by being at his/her disposal during service
• Implementing the Village Pub's high standard practice & policies
• Ensuring high standards of spot check of tables, inside and outside areas
• Having a relaxed approach to work - friendly, courteous, well-mannered and polite

Knowledge, experience and skills required:

• Previous experience working within a bar/pub/restaurant or similar type environment
• High working practices and standards
• Strong Interpersonal skills
