The Belfry Hotel and Golf Resort now has an opportunity for an experienced Chief Engineer to join the management team in order to drive our world class resort forward and ensure the upkeep of this stunning property.

POSITION SUMMARY

This role will report directly to the General Manager, and is responsible for the performance and management of the maintenance team. It requires a strategic and hands on operational leader focusing on all aspects of planned preventative maintenance, inspecting and evaluating the work and liaising with all external contractors to maintain a quality product.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing a large scale property maintenance programme and team, ideally within the hospitality industry, and operating at a swift pace. They will also possess strong leadership skills and high attention to detail. The successful candidate will be driven to succeed and deliver a great product at a high level and provide timely service through the successful management of the team and implementation of process and procedure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Ensuring a high standard of maintenance to the whole property including general public areas and guest bedrooms.
  2. Implementation and overseeing of planned maintenance schedules. On site management of the direct works and subsequent fit out.
  3. Implementation of procedures and protocols in the property.
  4. Ensure that all maintenance is prioritised and carried out effectively, efficiently and professionally to meet customer expectations, costs parameters, and health and safety regulations.
  5. Managing and assisting the team in carrying out regular maintenance and upkeep of the Hotel facilities.
  6. Management of all maintenance contracts to ensure service excellence and cost effectiveness. 
  7. Produce plans and manage capex planning process for the resort. Capex plans and submissions managed and delivered in accordance with CO directives.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

  • Three to five years related experience as a Maintenance Manager in an established large scale property; or equivalent combination of experience.
  • Experience working to exceptionally high standards to meet deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations with the ability to enforce legislative requirements
  • Experience working with older and new buildings
  • Possess great financial acumen and understand costs and business P&L.
  • Excellent communication and management skills
  • Ability to develop and manage a team
  • Be highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Full City & Guilds Qualification and Trade Qualifications
