Assistant Bar Manager - The Brabazon Bar, Rocca’s & The Market Place

Responsible to: General Manager – The Brabazon Bar

Works closely with: General Manager, Resort Management

We are currently accepting applications for the position of a multi-outlet Assistant manager for The Brabazon Bar, Rocca’s Pizza Pasta Restaurant and The Market place shop at the Belfry Hotel and Golf Resort, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. 

The Resort has been awarded ‘England’s Leading Resort & England’s Best Golf Hotel’ the past two years and ‘Europe’s Best Golf Resort’ 2016. The Belfry is proud of its rich sporting history and heritage, hosting the Ryder Cup four times in 1985, 1989, 1993 & 2002. Join us and be part of our winning team. 

Scope of the Role:

This position is tasked with assisting with the management of our very busy main hotel Brabazon Bar. In addition to this you will also be assisting with managing both our onsite pizza/pasta restaurant ‘Rocca’s’ and our Starbucks ‘Market Place’ store.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring F&B manager to gain great experience and skills in a multi-faceted role at ‘England’s Leading Resort’

As the Assistant manager you will have proven experience of working within a similar role in a busy 4* hotel operation and you must also have a proven track record of managing a large and diverse team of up to 20 team members. Experience in a busy hotel lounge bar or late night venue would be beneficial also but not essential.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • The Assistant Manager works closely with the Brabazon General Manager to ensure that each outlet delivers a quality service with the focus on customer satisfaction in all aspects of outlet operations, anticipating customer needs whenever and wherever possible to enhance the quality of service offered.
  • Instil a working ethos of team spirit and inter-departmental co-operation and partnership in achieving the aims of the business. Identify opportunities to inspire, train, motivate and develop your team alongside the outlet supervisors and team leaders.
  • Maintain operation standards to the highest possible level in respect of service, hygiene, health and safety ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the outlets.
  • Deal with complaints/problems politely and make every effort to resolve these with the minimal inconvenience to the customer.
  • Ensure cash handling and account recharging/recording is dealt with in accordance with financial guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to sell additional services of the business to guests.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels are adhered to in accordance with business needs and within wage budget guidelines; monitor staff levels and rectify if necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate stock levels for the department and highlight re-ordering as necessary in line with business needs.
  • Strictly observe all applicable licensing act regulations relating to personnel.
  • Training and coaching staff to maximise performance and consistently deliver 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Work closely with each outlets kitchen teams to ensure quality of food is maintained.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in a busy hotel lounge, or multi-site operation would be beneficial to this position
  • Applicants must have experience of delivering high levels of customer service, proven Team Management and be computer literate. You should be able to work flexible hours, on any day of the week.
  • Good communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service are essential.
  • Passionate about the industry and poses an ability to work on own initiative.
