We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our team as a Head Chef to help lead and evolve the kitchen operation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food service and preparation and have experience managing a busy kitchen and a indepth knowledge on stock control. The operation is very busy, and the head Chef will require exceptional delegation and leaderships skills, managing a team of currently 23 in the absence of the Head Chef the hotels Sous Chef will ensure all operations are running smoothly, which the Head Chef will ensure by providing robust training for all senior and junior team. You must have the ability to communicate effectively between your colleagues and with other departments within the hotel, as well as showing proven team management skills.
The ideal candidate will need to be able to integrate with our team, work quickly under pressure, and deliver outstanding products every time, ensuring that all guests’ needs are met at all times and above all food safety is paramount. You will have a good knowledge of the hotel's facilities and services and a good background in a managerial role.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Ensuring the effective running of the kitchen at all times.
- Achieving the highest standards of food & hygiene
- Maintaining the hotels 5star Food & Hygiene rating
- Liaising with other hotel departments on promotional offers and new menus,
- Ensuring effective ordering and stock management at all times, achieving the hotels monthly GP
- Managing the hotels kitchen hygiene team members to ensure effective management of hygiene and cleaning within the kitchen making sure at all times food safety is at its optimum.
- Ensure effective stock rotation within the section and within the kitchen, maximise usage of items and eliminate wastage to ensure an effective GP performance.
- Have an eye for detail and ensure all food made and prepared from the kitchen and throughout the hotel is outstanding at all times.
- The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate that they can multitask effectively, be enthusiastic and positive in their nature and have a willingness to learn.
- Must have a passion for Food Safety and cleanliness and ensure the kitchen is operating in like with regulation at all times.
