About The General Merchandise SeasonalCommercial Product Team;

The GM SeasonalCommercial Product Team is a team of product designers, customer insight and strategy analysts, trade planning, buying and merchandising teams.

Whilst working extremely closely with the buying team, merchandising is about planning and developing a strategy to enable Tesco to sell a range of products that delivers the sales and profit targets, whilst managing stock levels in line with targets. It's often explained as getting the right product, in the right place, at the right time, with the right quantities at the right price.



The Role Merchandise Administrator

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the roles key responsibilities and measures:

  • Assists the AMP in liaising with the suppliers/Tesco Bengaluru/Tesco Sourcing to ensure Launch and Event dates are met; updating launch trackers.
  • Keeping the range in stock and available throughout the season whilst working to OTB and stock targets.
  • Navigates the reporting systems, producing and gathering data analysis accurately and highlighting issues under guidance from AMP/MPM
  • Accurately completes and distributes weekly trade analysis under guidance from AMP/MPM
  • Works collaboratively with Store Stock Planning and supply chain teams to ensure the right stock is in the right stores at the right time.
  • Takes responsibility for planning and prioritising daily/ weekly tasks to achieve deadlines, highlighting concerns to AMP/MPM
  • Ad hoc duties are also an essential daily part of the Merchandise Administrator role as you are providing full administrative support to the Merchandising team.
  • This role will best suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team, is well organised, pragmatic and a lateral thinker with an inquisitive mind who is motivated to make change for the better and, most importantly, puts our customers first.

Youll need to have demonstrated experience of:

  • Analysing and interpreting data, identify trends and potential risks and opportunities.
  • Shows good understanding of basic mathematics.
  • Has a good understanding of the Critical Path and the key steps it contains
  • Demonstrates a good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Is able to communicate clearly and concisely; knowing the key stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness - Knows our customer profiles and who our key competitors are.
  • Resilience under pressure fast paced environment and having to think on your feet whilst hitting deadlines.
