We are looking for a creative and dynamic marketing assistant to join our team on a placement at The Grand, York. An opportunity not to be missed for someone who seeks a career in marketing, gaining valuable hands on experience within York’s finest hotel.

As Marketing Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the Marketing Manager in delivering the Marketing and PR plan as well as executing the strategy for both internal and external communications. The role will oversee day-to-day marketing activities and a broad range of tasks spanning across biddable media, organic social media, advertising, email marketing, photography, design briefs and copywriting and experience in running successful creative and impactful marketing and PR campaigns.  

This role is perfect for someone currently studying marketing and/or communications and looking to put their academic learnings into practice, ideally for a 12 month placement, but other durations would also be considered.

Your role in our family:

Key responsibilities to your role: 

  • Manage our social media channels with creative and engaging content
  • Website maintenance and updates
  • Channel performance monitoring
  • Maintain and update our CRM system and database in line with our key demographic
  • Ensure we have an alignment across all communication platforms including third parties, collateral, website and internal comms ensuring brand consistency. 
  • Organising marketing or PR events in line with the marketing strategy
  • Supporting the marketing manager on creative PR activations
  • Copy writing and proofreading 
  • Creating and working on email campaigns
  • Oversee photography shoots to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Ensuring all external marketing comms are up to date and correct
  • Upholding brand standards
  • Collate monthly insights from each channel to ensure we act efficiently and redirect our approach when we see trends emerging

You will be a protector of the brand and ensure The Grand are always positioned as a luxury property across all platforms. You will be in regular contact for external agencies and third parties and must ensure a positive and professional working relationship is maintained. Finally, you will work creatively with the Marketing Manager to ensure the business is always adapting and staying relevant within the market.
