We are looking for a Commis chef/kitchen assistant part time to support the Head Chef in delivering our hotel objectives. Fancy a cracking job with an amazing team in which you can get better everyday and learn new skills whilst being supported all the way?

About us:

Hotel Indigo, York hotel is a unique and trendy hotel set in the heart of York. The hotel boasts 103 unique bedrooms, with a funky and trendy Restaurant and Bar, No.88 Walmgate.

The team is very passionate, enthusiastic, and very energetic! The culture in the hotel is very important, and that is: trying to deliver the Hotel’s goals and objectives whilst at the same time creating a fun and great work/life balance for all!

York Train station is easily accessible, the hotel is a 12 minute walk from the Train Station. There are plenty of drop off points all throughout York for bus routes in and out of the city, with a main bus route running past the hotel on Walmgate.

Your role in our family:
  • Have passion for food and presentation of dishes
  • Have the desire to be trained and coached to get better everyday and learn new skills
  • Support the team in giving our guests a no fuss, consistent, amazing product
  • Contribute to the cleaning tasks and ensure the checklists are completed as per instruction
  • Comply with all health and safety and food regulations by supporting the kitchen in completing checklist
  • Able to work flexibly to suit the hours (various shift patterns) & needs of the Kitchen
  • Able to work and interact well as part of a team
  • Be willing to learn and create great food
  • Previous kitchen experience is preferable, but not essential
