We currently have a vacancy for a Demi Chef De Partie (Pastry) joining our team in Kitchen. The below are some of the job responsibilities:

 

  • To reflect the Shangri-La London’s philosophy by providing the highest standard of personalized and attentive, but discrete, service in a professional and understated manner
  • To always lead by example, adopting and exuding a positive attitude to keep our team spirit at its highest levels
  • To co-ordinate in detail on all restaurant/banquet/food production, including all staff under their supervision.
  • To check all stations before service.  Responsible for the correct timing during service and to ensure that food served is always of the highest standard and the freshest quality.
  • To fully understand the food safety guidelines
  • Responsible for the hygiene and cleanliness of responsible area in kitchen, including stewarding areas if applicable
  • Liaise with chief steward and sous chef on all cleaning (daily and weekly) schedules and inspections to ensure that kitchens are maintaining the highest cleanliness and sanitation levels
  • To ensure and maintain that all working tables, working utensils and high risk items (such as slicers, cutting boards, etc) are cleaned and sanitized (with completed documentation) both before and after each use by staff
  • To create, foster and nurture the training culture of Shangri-la Hotels and Resorts, highlighting the growth of staff professionally through well organized, thorough, documented training methods provided by Shangri-la Hotels
  • To conduct training classes and on the job training for all staff to foster and develop their skills, including new menu items
  • To ensure that all staff are aware of hotel rules and regulations
