Fitness Instructor (Part Time) | Tenterden Leisure Centre

Hours: 21.5 hours (approx.)

Salary: £6,875.70 to £9,178.78 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at Tenterden Leisure Centre who are recruiting for a Part Time Fitness Instructor to work the below working pattern:

Week 1: Tues 2.30 -10pm (7 hours), Thurs 2.30 – 10pm (7 hours)

Week 2: Mon 6.15-1.45pm (7 hours), Tues 2.30-10pm (7 hours), Thurs 2.30-10pm (7 hours), 1.30-10pm (8 hours)

Tenterden Leisure Centre offers a range of sporting and leisure activities to all age groups and abilities. With a modern sports venue to include a fully equipped fitness suite, fantastic leisure pool with various features and several classes and activities on offer.

Key purpose of role:

To provide inspiring fitness coaching to customers and to provide advice, guidance and programming to customers on all aspects of exercise and related subjects in accordance with the Customer Intimacy Health and Fitness programme.

Key Duties:

  • Ensure the provision of clean, safe, warm, friendly and fun facilities.
  • Ensure the delivery of the Customer Intimacy Health and Fitness programme.
  • Deliver and be able to set safe, effective activity programmes, undertake customer inductions and fitness assessments and be able to facilitate customers to set SMART exercise goals.
  • Continuously work with the health and fitness and Centre team to deliver continuous service improvement.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, environment and safety standards within the health and fitness department and constantly check standards during periods of duty.
  • Consistently and actively apply good housekeeping principles such as turning off lights and equipment when not in use and any other appropriate activities that contribute to the company’s carbon reduction policy.

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • A recognised qualification that allows entry at REPS Level 2.
  • Personal trainer level 3 (advantageous).
  • GP referral (advantageous).
  • Exercise Coaching and Instruction.
  • Exercise Programming.
  • Needs Analysis and Goal Setting.
  • Low, medium and high-risk referral populations.
  • Health, safety and professionalism in exercise and fitness instruction.
