Location: 3 Valentine Road, Bangor. Co-Down BT20 4TH

Working Hours: 20 hours per week

Salary: £15,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at Bangor Aurora Aquatics and Leisure Complex, as we are looking to recruit an Aquatic Site Lead to work 20 hours per week between Monday to Sunday.

Purpose of Role

To drive revenue through delivery of sessions and programmes to meet financial targets as set within the business plan. To administer the swimming lesson programme and report statistical information weekly or as required. The Aquatic site lead will support all aspects of the aquatics business and will be an ambassador for the centre aquatics programme to the centre’s current customers and within the local community.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage all activities contained within the centres swimming programme.
  • Focus on developing quality sessions and products that will encourage repeat visits from our customers and ensure we are the swimming provider of choice in the local area. 
  • Lead and manage a team of qualified Swimming Teacher and ensure their learning and qualifications are updated regularly to deliver the best possible services and instruction to our customers.
  • Develop manage the swimming lesson programme creating new courses and sessions for booking purposes, having responsibility for the waiting list and ensuring that this is kept up to date and customers are fed into the scheme on a regular basis.
  • Manage the schools swimming programme and ensure we provide the best possible service to schools and reporting on key stage 2 outcomes
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere for customers by ensuring front of house teams understand the swimming programme and they are updated regularly on programme development and changes. 
  • Undertake outreach work and off site presentations as and when required to meet the needs of the centre in order to develop new business and build relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Key performance indicators include the numbers of participants in swimming lessons, children’s wet side parties, special sessions i.e. aqua fit, swim fit, direct debit sales, patronage per session / casual occupancy, audit scores, mystery visits.
  • You will be responsible for the role out of new products/ sessions within the pool and the reporting of statistics relating to new sessions. 
 

Essential Qualifications

  • ASA or STA level 2 Teaching qualification
  • NPLQ or rescues test for teacher qualification
  • Maths and English GCSE
Desirable

  • Qualified to deliver Rookie lifeguard – desirable
 

Essential experience

  • Working in a busy pool environment for a minimum of 2 years
  • Membership sales in leisure /fitness industry
  • Dealing with high volumes of customers
  • Leading a team and managing rotas
