Carpenter - Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital

Full time (37.5 Hours) Monday to Friday

Salary: £18,969.49

Job Purpose:

To carry out Building Craftsman's work within core skill directed by Maintenance Supervisor and Building Services Manager to provide cost building maintenance

Key Responsibilities:

  • To carry out new work as directed by Building Supervisor and New Works Manager
  • To assist with other trade duties under supervision or with training as required
  • To be willing to develop new methods of working and to put forward ideas that will assist Serco in delivery of its business.
  • To be familiar with Serco’s Health and Safety policy and to understand all their won responsibilities
  • To take part in Emergency Recall to work when the needs arises.
  • Heavy repairs, move equipment, move heavy materials.

 

Skill and Experience:

  • Ability to problem solve building fabric defects.
  • Ability to establish best solution for problem.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Concentration for fault finding.
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • City & Guilds in Building Studies Advanced Craft

Desirable skills:

  • Experience of working within a Healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations
  • Experience of undertaking Risk Assessments
