Job Title: Business Development Manager – Environmental & Civil Enforcement

Location: Hook, Hampshire with UK wide Travel

 

About the role

 

To deliver a credible, sustained presence and informed contribution to the Environmental & Parking portfolio and the delivery of the ambitious growth plan containing opportunities for new business over a five year time horizon.

 

You will successfully contribute to the Environmental & Parking Business growth strategy and delivery of targets to increase revenue, market share and customer loyalty through effective and professional business development, bid and sales execution.

 

Working collaboratively with colleagues in sales, operations and group to identify, shape, qualify, execute, close and transition new business wins from new and existing contract relationships to deliver quarterly, annual financial and profitable growth targets.

 

Ownership of new bids and opportunities; responsible for qualifying and delivering new business growth in accordance with business plan.

 

Support contract negotiation, contract management and pricing within the bid and transition process, and optimising revenues and profits, working with colleagues in the Commercial & Legal teams.

 

You will develop new capabilities for the business in accordance with the overarching strategy including the business case for investment in new capabilities.

 

Finally, be an ambassador of Serco’s business development models, tools and processes; ensuring plans, knowledge, resource requirements and risks are shared and managed collaboratively.

 

About you

 

  • Experience in business development with demonstrated growth success.
  • Graduate calibre, professionally qualified and background in business development.
  • Demonstrable track record in sales execution – individually led and closed deals from £500,000 up to £10m p.a
  • Good understanding of tools and processes associated with developing sales and account management strategies and plans.
  • Able to demonstrate senior and strategic account management and the ability to develop effective relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication skills to include interpersonal, written, staff level and executive level business briefings.
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to assimilate information quickly, and communicate key messages simply and effectively to the business to aid decision making.
  • Strong track record of delivering change in complex and demanding environments, interacting with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent commercial judgment and financial literacy.
  • Understands cultures, motivations and needs of others to draw people together and leverage experience.
  • Good understanding of contract management and service delivery.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
