Health and Fitness Manager (Full Time)

Salary: £19,338.00 per Annum

Location: Meopham, Kent, DA13 0AH

Hours: 40 Hours per week

 

Located in the heart of Meopham, Meopham Tennis and Fitness Centre is a true community facility. Adjacent to Meopham Secondary School, we have a strong link with the pupils and the school. The centre is the ideal facility for the school to teach sport, health and fitness to their students. The centre provides a wide range of sports coaching and children`s activities and is second to none and along with the newly refurbished fitness suite, it really is suitable for the whole family.

 

The Job:

As deputy to the Centre Manager the role will manage all aspects of health, fitness and sales activity delivery in the centre by ensuring the health and fitness team provide inspiring results, driven fitness coaching and supervision to customers in accordance with the Customer Health and Fitness programme. In addition the role will ensure that health and safety is paramount in all aspects of delivery. The successful applicant will be required to work shifts, between the hours of 6:15am – 10:30pm, across 5 days out of 7.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure the provision of clean, safe, warm, friendly and fun facilities.


• Implement and manage the delivery of the Customer Health and Fitness Programme.


• Supervise, lead, coach and inspire the health, fitness and sales team to set safe, effective activity programme, undertake customer inductions and fitness assessments and to be able to set SMART exercise goals.


• Work with the health and fitness and Centre team to lead continuous service improvement.


• Contribute to planning and marketing strategies and operational delivery strategies as required by the Centre Manager


• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, environment and safety standards within the health and fitness department and constantly check standards during periods of duty


• Stand in for the fitness team as and when required.


• Supervise the delivery of the Health & Fitness Framework.


• Lead and develop the group exercise programme liaising with the Southern Health & Fitness Manager.


• Monitor &  record Group exercise participation levels


• Act as Duty manager as and when required.


• Promote all Membership types and offers


• Act as Line Manager to sales advisor/s and fitness instructors


• Conduct tours of the facility


• Advise Centre & Contract Manager on membership activities


• Achieve & exceed targets & Increase membership sales


• Track cancellations and net gain of H&F members


• Work with other team members to develop and deliver a marketing plan for the Centre


• Any other duties as required.

 

Specific Requirements:

• REPS (Level 3) qualified or equivalent


• Low, medium and high risk referral populations


• Managerial / supervisory experience (2 years minimum)


• Health, safety and professionalism in exercise and fitness instruction.


• High quality customer service and communication skills


• Good Leadership skills


• The ability to empathise and work with customers and staff of all age groups and levels of ability.


• Health and safety training and awareness.


• Business planning experience


• Planning, marketing and sales promotional skills.


• First Aid qualified
