Leyland Leisure Centre has a range of facilities available including a swimming pool, teaching pool, state of the art fitness suite, workout studio, sports hall, two glass back squash courts, a `group cycling` studio and a `strength space` area.




We are looking to recruit 2 Part Time Swimming Teacher's for Leyland Leisure Centre. One role is for 13.25 Hours per week and the other is for 16, between Monday and Sunday.
 



Salary:



13.25 hrs (£7,399.48 -£8,380.55)



16 Hours (£8,401.28 - £10,119.91)




Job Purpose:
The Swimming Teacher will have responsibility for the safety and skill advancement of the pupils within their care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To instruct individuals or groups in the art of swimming or other associated aquatic activities.
- Provide schemes of work and lesson plans relevant to the instruction being undertaken.
- Ensure the safe use and storage of any equipment required during a lesson.
- Record information relevant to each lesson content and any other associated information.
- To provide instruction in line with the current Learn to Swim scheme.
- To attend badge assessment sessions as required.
- To promote and support the swimming lesson scheme.



 



Essential / Desirable Skills for the role:
- Hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is essential.
- Hold a Professional Swimming Qualification - Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) or equivalent level 1 is essential.
- Hold a Professional Swimming Qualification - Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) or equivalent level 2 is desirable.
- Experience within a customer facing / customer service environment.
- Previous experience within a Leisure Centre would be advantageous.
- Confident leading and instructing large groups of people.
- Up to date knowledge of current swim practices and safety requirements for the management of swimming lessons.
- Good planning ability.
- Good class management and motivation skills.
- Effective communicator and good customer care skills.
- CIMPSA - Advantageous but not essential
