We are currently recruiting for 2 Casual Swimming Instructors, to work various hours between Monday to Sunday. You will deliver a programme of Swimming Instruction for various levels of ability and which meets the standards of the `Schools` or `Strokes` Swimming Instruction Scheme at Beeches Leisure Centre.





Salary: £9.50 per hour

About the role




- To provide advice and support to the Site Manager on the development of the site Swimming Instruction Programme.
- Liaise with the Site Swimming Co-ordinator on course content and activity programmes specific to that site.
- To liaise with the Assistant Teachers in charge of school classes when teaching on the Schools Instruction Programme.
- To liaise with, and maintain an effective relationship with parents when teaching swimming as part of the Strokes Instruction Scheme, including encouraging customer retention.
- To be responsible for the validation of appropriate badges and certificates relating to the Strokes and Schools Instruction Scheme and liaising with the Site Swimming Co-ordinator on their issue.
- Keep abreast of current development trends in Swimming and Swimming Teaching by attending the appropriate in-service training courses / seminars





Skills and Experience:

- Hold an ASA/STA Teachers Certificate or equivalent (Level2) is essential.
- Recognised Lifesaving Qualification is desirable.
- Sound understanding of principles of Swimming Instruction.
- Ability to maintain written records and respond to routine enquiries, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to relate to children and adults.
- Must be a suitable person to work with children. A suitable CRB (enhanced) disclosure must be received prior to confirmation of appointment.
