24,440 per annum + paid overtime

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pastry Commis Chef to work in a prestigious contract catering site in a global law firm located in the City of London, near Liverpool Street Station

The main function of the role is to support the head pastry chef and team in the production of the pastry section for all customers and clients in the venue. We are looking for a Commis Pastry Chef that is passionate about cooking with knowledge of working in a pastry section, and capable to assist with fine dining and plated desserts.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and delivery of all pastries, baked goods, confections, and other desserts including a la carte plated desserts and working on bespoke events/ afternoon teas etc

Support the head pastry chef and team with stock taking when required

Carry out the smooth and efficient running of your section as appropriate

• Complete all relevant food safety and health & safety paperwork, labelling, allergen specs

Experience/skills required:

• Previous experience in a similar role, or recently graduated from college/culinary school
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player
• A real passion for food
• Excellent attention to detail
• Understanding of food safety, health and safety and allergens, full training will also be provided
