Crewing Officer GERMAN and English speaking - Office location: Limassol, Cyprus

Job summary

  • Contact person regarding Crewing issues for crew on board ocean-going vessels
  • Close cooperation with Hotel Operations Managers
  • Supervising of the Assistant Crewing Officer in charge regarding all crew contracts on board, required documents, travel arrangements, travel expenses, data-entry, etc.
  • Rotation planning for different departments
  • Visa procedure application for the ports
  • Travel to the vessels in order to discuss crewing matters on board
  • Manages distribution of all pertinent payroll information in the office
  • Monitors Par level and Crew Movement reports from the vessel
  • Ensures that all Crew meet all regulations with regards to certification
  • Co-ordinates complaints as per requirements stated in Company's QMS
  • Reviews claims documents received from vessels, completes the Claims Sheet, and works closely with the Claims Officer for processing of claims
  • Monitoring of crew appraisals and performance
  • Continuous development and optimization of work flow and standards, including guidelines and manuals

Job requirements

  • Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in hotel business or on board cruise ships would be considered an advantage
  • Knowledge of sea farers documentation would be considered an advantage
  • Must have a EU-work permit or be a EU citizen
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly demanding office environment
  • Ability to work under stress and on own initiative, good decision maker
  • Good communication skills
  • Cost and quality awareness
  • Reliable, trustworthy person, integrity
  • Team player; respectful, friendly and professional conduct towards clients, passengers, colleagues and crew
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and ideally a crew management software
  • Good command of the German and English language (written and spoken)
