Course Marshal - Roehampton, London

Reporting To: Head Course Marshal

Salary: £9,240 per annum

Hours: 2 Days per week (07:30 - 16:00 (+/- 1 hour depending on course usage and light)) - Opportunities for further hours.

Job Purpose:

To ensure the Club rules are adhered to by all Members, guests & visitors who use the Golf facilities and to facilitate tee times under the guidance of the Golf and Games Manager, whilst offering a welcoming meet and greet service to all players.

Key Responsibilities

  • To follow the checklists and other operational standards and guidelines in the Marshal’s Handbook.
  • Providing a warm and friendly welcome to all Members, guests and opposition team members upon arrival
  • To monitor the daily tee sheet, ensuring that games start on the correct tee
  • To constantly remind Members to repair pitch marks, replace divots, rake bunkers and display good etiquette whilst on the golf course
  • To ensure Members & guests adhere to the Club dress code
  • To check that Member bag tags and guest fee tickets are clearly displayed
  • Distributing scorecards, pitchforks etc as and when required to golfers
  • To regularly monitor pace of play using TagMarshal and dealing with any issues relating to pace of play
  • Report any incidents between golfers that take place on the course to the Golf and Games Manager or Head Course Marshal
  • To keep the 1st tee area, trolley sheds, shoe/trolley cleaning areas, golf practice nets clean and tidy
  • To keep the 7th hole halfway hut clean and stocked with necessary supplies
  • To keep the single-seater ride-on buggies clean & charged, and the marshal’s buggy clean & fuelled
  • To wear the correct uniform and/or protective clothing provided by the Club at all times whilst on duty.
  • To provide first aid to any golfer on the course when called upon, contacting the Sport Shop for assistance if necessary
  • To report any Health and Safety issues to the Golf and Games Manager or Head Golf Marshal
  • Assisting Members with golf related questions (WHS queries/handicap allowance)
