TATE BRITAIN

When Henry Tate offered his collection of British art to the nation there was no space for it in the National Gallery.  A new site had to be found and a gallery built to house this sensational gift, and also the works of British artists from other collections.

The grand porticoed entrance that overlooks the Thames remains as the original core building but due to the gallery’s enduring popularity and the growth of the collection, it has seen no less than seven major building extensions. Housing the most comprehensive collection of British art from 1500 to the present day it represents a truly unique opportunity for hosting an event.  Whether you want to tie in with one of the many excellent temporary exhibitions or just delight your guests with the splendour of British classics in Gallery 9 this is a shining jewel in London’s venue crown.

TATE MODERN

The transformation of the former Bankside Power Station into one of the world’s leading modern art Galleries and top UK tourist attractions has been quite exceptional.

A home for the national collection of international modern and contemporary art, it currently provides a number of sleek and stunning event spaces, including the Turbine Hall itself, which later this year will increase in number dramatically with the unveiling of the Tate Modern Project.

The original oil Tanks for the power station will become the world’s first gallery space dedicated to live art and have fixed dates in the year during which they can be purely available for special events.  Additionally the extension will include several exciting new spaces include the Level 2 and Level 4 concourses, as well as the Level 10 Viewing Terrace offering incredible views across the river and beyond. Together with a series of ground-breaking exhibitions the Tate Modern and Tate Modern Project look set to be the hot venue for events in 2016 and 2017.
