Pointing Dog & Duck is surrounded by the green lands of Derbyshire in the historic chocolate box market town of Bakewell. 

We are  housed in a restored saw mill, complete with ancient beams, right on the edge of the waterways. It is no surprise that we have the best views in town of the charming River Wye and its leafy green surrounds.
Our menus take inspiration from our surrounding lands, filling your plate and glass with the finest foods and most tastiest of drinks, cocktails, local ales and great wines. 

We are looking for an experienced General Manager who is up for a challenge - not only a hard working and passionate manager, but someone that can support the development of this fantastic team and deliver excellent customer experiences time and time again.

As a General Manager with us, you will be responsible for the whole operation within your business from driving authentic ways of learning and development to delivering personalised and passionate hospitality. You will be involved in every aspect of your business including financial forecasting, maintaining high and consistent standards, inspiring, motivating, training and developing your team to enable your business to demonstrate excellent growth and achievements.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in a management role within in a high street/branded concept.
  • Experience managing a business with both food and drink profiles
  • Experience and knowledge of financials, P&L and stock control
  • A passion to producing the perfect consistent service
  • Always attentive and proactive
  • An excellent team player with exceptional communication skills
  • Be fun-loving, have a great character and enjoy the culture that this industry offers 
  • A passion for building and driving the team and business forward

Successful candidates will need to possess drive, enthusiasm and be able to demonstrate a real passion for great food and drink.
