Here's a snapshot of the role and its key responsibilities:

Our Sous Chefs are inspired chefs who love creating amazing food from the best ingredients, feel restaurants are more of a fascination than just a job, have a keen eye for detail but with bags of flair and creativity. Other duties include:

  • Proactively assisting in ensuring the overall quality and effectiveness of the kitchen department.
  • Ensure consistent standards in all areas of the kitchen, the main aim being guest care and satisfaction.
  • Ensures that the quality and presentation of food products meet company standards.
  • Ensures that set ticket times are met and communicates to management if not met.
  • Checks stations assigned to and check for complete setups.
  • Welcome new colleagues and help them to settle into the business.
  • Ensure you perform your daily duties in accordance with the trained and communicated standards and lead by example in developing a customer focused engaging service driven hospitality offering to our guests and internal colleagues.
  • Help support the brigade and provide training and development to talented junior chefs
  • Help to create and write menus and support the Head Chef in purchasing food while controlling costs

What you’ll need to succeed in this role?!

Ideally, you will:

  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule and late hours when necessary
  • Be familiar with all sections of the kitchen to facilitate the flexible use of colleagues
  • Show passion, drive and enthusiasm
  • Be hard working, focused, inspiring and encouraging.
