Ventilation Officers form part of the Engineering team of the  Technical Department, which is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective operation and maintenance of all onboard machinery and equipment, covering a wide range of areas including power generation and propulsion, heating and air conditioning and deck, hotel, and entertainment support systems.  The Technical department’s mission is to provide a safe, secure and environmentally sound operation at all times.  It is a dynamic department with a wide variety of roles and career opportunities.

                                               

Reporting to the Staff Engineer Officer, the 1st Ventilation Officer assists in leading a team that provides for the energy-efficient and cost-effective operation and maintenance of all onboard heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, in compliance with company safety and environmental standards, to guarantee the comfort of all passengers and crew.

Preference will be given to applicants who possess an HND (or higher) qualification in Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering and/or have worked in a company dealing with major/industrial air conditioning and refrigeration plants.  We will also consider Reefer Engineers or applicants who have had sea-going experience in ventilation and air-conditioning on passenger ships.
