Principal Accountabilities
Operations
- To encourage the team to maximise sales
- To ensure the team achieves its departmental targets and objectives
- Plan rotas for the department using appropriate I.T systems 4 weeks in advance
Customer Service Standards
- Know and demonstrate by example Planet Organic’s customer service standards
- Ensure that one team member is always forward-facing ready to serve the customer
- Ensure that customers are served in line with Food Hygiene Certificate practices
- Lead and coach the team in their ability to effectively deliver the company’s service standards
People, Training & Development
- Assist the Food to Go Manager or Store Manager in identifying training and development needs for each FTG team member
- Facilitate/assist in training the team; utilise relevant manuals/tool kit trainings as necessary
- Motivate the team to achieve departmental objectives
- Effectively communicate goals and objectives to the team
- Be responsible for one’s own training and development by proactively participating in achieving the Planet Organic Certificate
- Attend/complete trainings as necessary
- Where required, complete /assist in carrying out performance reviews for the team
Merchandising & Stock Management
- Ensure departmental ordering is completed: chilled takeaway items, FTG consumables and cakes; liaise with the appropriate person for ordering patisserie items
- Monitor regularly, and minimise, wastage
- Ensure that food from the kitchen is ready in time for service; liaise with the kitchen to improve the FTG presentation and service
- Departmental stock takes: ensure weekly and periodic stock takes are completed and recorded according to company procedures
Systems & Procedures
- Follow correct opening and closing procedures
- Ensure the team operates equipment correctly and safely
- Ensure the FTG team adheres to the correct service and preparation of hot drinks, juices, hot and cold food
- Ensure all HACCP and Health & Safety procedures are adhered to and properly recorded
- Ensure the team operates the till systems competently and accept correctly cash/cards/vouchers in line with cash handling policies and procedures
