Activities Coordinator - Godalming, Surrey

We are Places Leisure, part of the Places for People Group; we are placemakers; our work impacts on the lives of people across the U.K. – providing homes to live in, communities to retire to, spaces to stay active, supported homes for independent living, and student accommodation. Our places work when they work for everyone.

How do we do all this? By surrounding ourselves with active people, supportive people and customer focused people. Our people live and breathe our SPIRIT values; we are the place for spirited people.

So, we want you to join us and the 12,000 other colleagues on our journey; colleagues who have helped us create places, maintain 209,000 homes, manage £4.5 billion of assets, deliver £87.9m in social value and teach 80,000 children to swim each week.

More about your role

Do you have the passion to support young people?

The Saturday Night Project (SNP) is a weekly multi-activity evening for those aged 11-18 years due to launch at Godalming Leisure Centre/Broadwater Youth Centre. Young people can enjoy a variety of sports, activities/games, make new friends and feel great!

Following successful projects in Cranleigh and Farnham, we want to provide similar amazing opportunities to Godalming's young people. Places Leisure is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us and oversee the new project and the recruitment and ongoing management of volunteers.

The role of the Co-ordinator is to:

  • Source and recruit a volunteer network in conjunction with Godalming Town Council and other partner organisations via appropriate outlets (community boards, social media)
  • Submit all volunteer DBS applications and undertake all associated document checks
  • Undertake various administration tasks such as putting together rotas and liaising with volunteers on appropriate paperwork
  • Organise activity rotas for Saturday nights
  • Management of volunteer and participant standards throughout the duration of the session
  • Co-ordinating the collation of feedback from participants
  • Liaison with other Places Leisure staff.
