Food & Beverage Assistant - Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire

REPORTING TO: Food and Beverage Supervisor

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week (shift work including mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays)

CONTRACT: Permanent

The Role

The Food and Beverage Assistant role reports to the Supervisor and works as part of a small team responsible for ensuring our Members receive a warm and friendly welcome and any queries are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner. You will be expected to deliver exceptional service to both Club Members and Guests alike, keeping good cleanliness, and health & safety to the front of all you do.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the day to day running of service within the guidelines set by management and the departments standard operating procedures (SOPS) e.g., setting up the bar/restaurant, health and safety measures, taking food and drink orders from Members accurately and charging correctly.
  • Assist with room set ups, table clearing, food delivery, beverage preparation and delivery.
  • Train on and build food and beverage knowledge to know and understand the menus and offer food, wine, and beverage suggestions.
  • Complete all assigned training within timeframes given.
  • Keep Member and work areas clean with a ‘Clean As You Go’ standard adherence.
  • Keep work area well stocked at beginning and end of shift.
  • Support a strong collaborative team environment maintaining friendly positive behaviour with Colleagues and Members.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day maintenance of all equipment used and report issues.
  • Maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance, keeping to the uniform standards as given.
  • Be aware of the need to observe Health and Safety regulations and advise management of any irregularities.
  • Complete any other reasonable task as requested.
  • Be confident with good listening skills.
  • Ensure that all of the above duties are completed within our Customer Service values at all times.

Essential

  • Organised approach to work, including ability to prioritise in a busy environment.
  • Great customer service approach and ability to ability to escalate issues as required.
  • Good command of the English language as you will be the communication between Members/Guests and the Kitchen team.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible approach to service and exhibit strong teamwork with a One Team ethos.

Desirable

  • Previous experience held in customer service.
  • Use of an Ordering system such as Micros, Squirrel, Opera or other.
  • Level 2 Food Safety.
  • Level 2 Health and Safety.
  • Allergen training.
