Are you super organised, and looking to get first hand on the job experience working in a Finance Department to help Kickstart your career? At Pets at Home Group we’ve got a fantastic opportunity to join our team on a 6-month placement to gain experience in a Finance role as a Statement Reconcililiation Clerk

 

This role is based out of our Support Office in Handforth in Cheshire, but we are happy and will support you to also work remotely. The role will report into the Assistant Transactional Finance Manager, and we’re looking for someone who takes real pride in their work and surroundings is organised and has good attention to detail, with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to use their own initiative. In return you'll get the opportunity to work with a high performing finance team who will support you to develop new skills. 

 

What's involved?

 

You'll get full training and support to develop in the role and as part of the 6 month placement you'll learn and be able to:

 

• Work with your mentor who will help and support you with on the job trainng and development
• Use email to retrieve and request statements of account from suppliers and vendors
• Prepare reports from our Finance System SAP 
• Match invoice/credit numbers from SAP reports to Vendor Statement
• Identify and resolve items on statement, not on our finance system or on statements 
• Resolve unallocated payments or miss allocated payments
• Investigate differences in invoice values found
• Prepare finalised statement to audit standard
• Identify invoices in query on the parked report
• Resolve queries with colleagues within business so the invoice can be paid or a credit note obtained
• Keep a record of statements completed

 

To apply for the role you must be: 

 

• 16 to 24 years of age
• Currently on Universal Credit
• Looking for employment and/or training
• Referred by a DWP work coach 
• Knowledge or experience of Excel and basic formulae
• Good communication and written skills
