The role will suit a candidate with previous experience, who understands the industry and is able to take ownership of the operational finance function and reporting, who analyses the issues and solves problems.

The ideal candidate will perform well under pressure and will have the ability to motivate and empower others to reach organisational goals.

The Role

  • Oversee and manage outsourced finance function informing senior leadership team of all matters related to finance.
  • Responsible for the preparation of annual budgets and collaboration with department heads.
  • Preparation of business plans including cash flow forecasts; Draft detailed commentary and analysis for management and shareholders to support business forecasts.
  • Attending weekly trade meetings, working with department heads, business managers, review detailed financial analysis of actual performance on a weekly, monthly basis together with variance analysis and KPIs;
  • Make recommendations for profit margin improvements; Flag areas of concern.
  • Budgetary control. Working with the business, manage costs to budget.
  • Assist Business managers driving budgetary control and headline profit. Constantly work towards improving the quality of financial reporting; review all workflows to improve operating efficiencies and reduce the time required in collating data and preparing accounts.
  •  Carry out any other duties as reasonably required in accordance with the company's policies and procedures and as directed by your line manager.
  • Maintain cash flow forecasts; Review and incorporate cash-flow requests, supplier payment control and provide regular updates to your management for efficient funds management.
  • Prepare annual accounts and supporting documents for Audit Purposes
  • Provide monthly cost analysis of overheads and report on variances for inclusion in the monthly management report.
  • Prepare year end accounts and supporting documentation for the annual audit and liaise with auditors to resolve queries on a timely manner.
  • Liaising with management team and implementing corrective actions to keep margins in accordance with targets.
  • Controlling stock levels and organising annual stock take for the retail side of the business.
  • Liaising with bank manager on overdraft and loan facilities.
  • Liaising with external Accountancy firm with regard to statutory accounts.
