Lifeguard - Holme Grange Holiday Camp, Wokingham 

Background

Oxford Active runs children's holiday camps in every school holiday at school sites throughout Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire for children aged 3 – 14 years.

We need a qualified Lifeguard to join our team at  Holme Grange Holiday Camp where we aim to run fun, exciting activities, and keep children safe in a stimulating and caring environment.

Job Purpose

Lifeguard duty during all swimming sessions during holiday camp

To keep the children safe and to help them have fun

Hours and Dates

All camps run Monday to Friday during school holidays.

Core hours would be 10am – 4pm Monday to Friday, but this may vary.

The role can be stand alone or combined with the role of Activity Leader to work full days 8am – 6pm.

Job Duties

• Lifeguarding duties while children are using the pool
• Supervising children during lunchtimes
• Ensuring that children are kept safe by following the camp’s policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, risk assessment and other health and safety issues
• With other staff, being responsible for keeping premises clean and tidy
• With other staff, being responsible for the safe keeping of play and sports equipment
• Administering first aid if appropriate
• Carrying out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework
• Working within all agreed policies and procedures

Person Specification

• Must have a current lifeguarding qualification
• Ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children
• Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team
• Willingness to undertake appropriate training is desirable
• Must undergo strict safeguarding checks including an enhanced DBS disclosure
