Outdoor Activity Instructor - Active Adventure Holiday Camp

Overview

Adventure camps have been specifically designed for children who have a real passion for the outdoors. Our specialist outdoor pursuits instructors will engage the children in a selection of the following activities: Canoeing, kayaking, raft building, archery, den building, orienteering, survival skills, map reading, bug hunting, treasure hunts, assault courses, outdoor cooking and more.

We need a team of qualified Activity Instructors for two weeks in August to run Activity Camps in the grounds of Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire. Accommodation can be provided during the contract.

Dates and Location

Blenheim Palace Park, Woodstock, Oxfordshire: 7th – 18th August

Hours: 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday

Job Duties

  • Supervising and running specialist activity sessions in a range of outdoor pursuits
  • Working as part of a team to deliver safe, creative, outdoor adventure activities
  • Ensure that children are kept safe by following the camp’s policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, risk assessment and other health and safety issues
  • Administering first aid as appropriate
  • Help to keep premises and equipment clean, safe and well organised
  • Working within all Oxford Active policies and procedures

Person Specification

  • Experience of working with 6 – 14 year old children in a range of outdoor activities
  • Appropriate qualifications in relevant sports and outdoor activities – must have at least one of the following: BCA Level 2, Single Pitch Award
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children
  • Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team
  • All staff must pass strict safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure
