Collections Review Officer - Sudbury

Summary

***INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE***

The collection at Melford is varied. You'll work alongside the site collections team to help deliver our collections management policy.

We can offer the equivalent of 2.5 days a week, with exact working pattern to be decided. This job is fixed term for two years.

What it's like to work here

Melford Hall is a surprising Country House. Set on the village green in Long Melford, it has a fascinating history ranging from Medieval Monastic Estate to a lived in family home.

Reporting to the Property Operations Manager you'll also work closely with the Senior Collections & House Officer and Regional Curator.

What you'll be doing

As this is a specific project role, you won't be involved in daily collections care or visitor operations, but may be asked to cover duty management from time to time.

Working as part of the Collections Review Programme, but based at Melford Hall, you'll be responsible for recording collections review outcomes, conducting due diligence research and maintaining our collections documentation in line with National Trust documentation standards and sectorial practice. You might be following an interesting line of research one day and arranging collections transport the next.  Throughout you'll be working closely to dovetail your work with that of the Collections team at Melford Hall.

As this is a property based role the elements of the role profile that apply to central National Trust colleagues and working groups do not apply, although you will need to build good relationships with the central Registrar team.
