 Job title: Aquatics Manager

Location: Rebecca Adlington and Water Meadows Leisure centres

Working Hours: 24 hours per week, varied working pattern including unsociable hours and weekends when required (plus the option of an additional 13 hours for Swim Teaching)

Salary: £16,268.62 per annum (£13 p/h) + commission

To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for an Aquatics Manager to join us.

 

In this role you will have operational & commercial responsibility for all aquatics activity and revenue lines within the Mansfield contract. This includes learn to swim (More Swimming Academy), school swimming, casual swimming, and ticketed events (such as inflatables)

 

This role will drive the commercial growth and financial results of all aquatics activity and will be measured on core KPIs (inclusive of income, profit, participation, length of stay & retention).

 

You will play a key part in managing and developing quality sessions and products that will encourage repeat visits from our customers and ensure we are the swimming and sports course provider of choice in the local area.
 

 

As part of this role your duties will include:
 

  • Manage a team of qualified swimming teachers to ensure their learning and qualifications are up to date
  • Manage staff rotas, annual leave, absence, and performance
  • Create new courses and sessions, ensuring that waiting list is kept up to date and customers are fed into the scheme on a regular basis.
  • Undertake outreach work to consistently hit key performance indicators

 

No two weeks will be the same and it is expected that you work hours that best drive the commercial results of the contract as well as having a strong presence poolside during swimming lessons.

What you'll need to do the role

 

First and foremost, you will hold either STA Level 2 Certificate or SE Level 2 Swimming Teacher, as you will be using your technical knowledge to manage a develop a large successful swimming programme.

 

At times you will be required to teach swimming lessons so an up-to-date NPLQ or NRASTC is desirable, however full training can be provided for the right candidate.

 

You'll have experience working within a busy leisure environment dealing with high volumes of customers, adults, and children. Using your IT skills to work with our front of house team to develop a swimming and courses membership sales environment.

 

Your role will include liaising with our front of house team and building relationships with our customers therefore a qualification in Customer Service would be advantageous.

 

Additional Hours Option and STA Tutoring Opportunities

 

Whilst the post is currently advertised for 24hrs per week, this can be increased by including additional swim teacher hours (maximum of 13hrs extra for teaching).

 

These would be 4hrs, 8am-12noon on a Sunday morning and up to 3 x 3 hrs from 4pm-7pm on weeknights or 9am-12noon on Saturday morning).

 

If you are an STA Aquatic Tutor, there is additional work options avaliable tutoring and assessing for our Serco Leisure STA Approved Training Centre. For the right applicant the option to train to be an STA tutor is avaliable, with full support in place.
