Welcome to Little Gems Country Dining
Little Gems Country Dining started in October 2006
and so far we’re a small, intimate company with five pubs. We make it a company principle to use this intimacy to support our pub managers, so that they can run the pubs with their own style and personality. Managers make decisions about menus, staff and local marketing and we do the support functions for them (so they get to do all the fun bits). We pride ourselves on doing the simple things really well and keeping our focus on the staff and customers. In our kitchens, our Head Chefs concentrate on providing home cooked menus with specials menus that change every day. Provenance, sustainability and sourcing British food is important to us, and we keep our dishes simple and not over presented.
Each year the quality of food available gets better and better in the UK
and our local communities do a great job at supporting us. Oh and we take home grown vegetables over the bar as payment…seriously come on in, ask the chef and do a deal with him! Our wine list has over 20 wines by the glass and the wines are grouped together by useful descriptions of how they taste. We choose boutique wine suppliers, working closely with a few companies to produce an exciting individual list. If we find something new we’ll get a few cases in and chalk it up on the boards at a really decent price. This wine list sits alongside traditional real ales, local where possible, and continental beers on tap. So along with a good choice of soft drinks including organic juices there’s something for everybody.
