Langdale Chase Hotel, which sits on the banks of beautiful Lake Windermere, is currently undergoing a full significant refurbishment of the hotel, ready for re-opening in Autumn 2023.

We are looking for an experienced Bar Manager to report to the Resident Manager to passionately deliver five star standard service,  ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the bar and maximising profitability and delivering an exceptional guest experience. We are looking for this role to start at the beginning of August 2023.

Your day to day;

  • Hosting and supervising to the highest calibre and ensuring that all team members working in the department maintain a high level of hospitality at all times to all guests
  • To be passionately knowledgeable about the wine list, with the confidence to make exceptional wine recommendations
  • Responsibility for the efficient operation of the Hotel bar, maintaining the desired levels of stock across the bar and in the cellar
  • Undertaking the stock ordering for all wines, spirits, beers, and soft drinks for the bar in line with anticipated levels of business
  • Develop the team’s knowledge of the wine list and service of wine with regular training sessions for all food and beverage team members
  • Managing all recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction for team members working within the department

 

Who are we looking for?

You will have worked previously in a similar Bar Management role and will ideally have worked in a high quality Four-Star or Five-Star hotel.

Wine knowledge experience is essential in this role, with at least a WSET Level 2 qualification, preferably you will have WSET Level 3 qualification. You will have a sound knowledge of mixology with a genuine interest and passion in drinks trends.

This is a leadership role and therefore you will demonstrate high levels of both self-motivation and the ability to motivate, lead and develop a team.

You will have exemplary customer service skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with others to represent the Company and the hotel in a loyal, professional, and knowledgeable manner. You will be passionate about working within the wine and drinks industry, have a strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task whilst working in a pressurised environment.
