About the Job

Deliver comprehensive wet side programming, including; pool timetables, school holiday activities, swim school programme, gala competitions and swimming lessons, overseeing the booking process and ensuring that all users receive first class customer service when using the facilities. The swim manager will work collaboratively with other departments across the business to ensure an innovative programme of activities are delivered, that support and give back to the local community.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day management of lifeguards and swimming teachers, ensuring NPLQ, CPD and comp test requirements are compliant. 
  • Carrying out the deputy manager role when on duty management shift.
  • Supervise and coordinate regular maintenance and cleaning of the facility and carrying out daily, weekly and monthly pool plant operations, tasks and checks.
  • Track, measure and report on the effectiveness of aquatic programmes
  • Grow, develop and maintain a comprehensive wet side programme, maximizing Swim School and Learn2 occupancy. 
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends effecting wet side os, making appropriate recommendations for strategic and tactical development.
  • Deal with any H&S incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns & report on the management system.
  • Ensure all safe systems at work are adhered to and general building management is safe, including maintenance and repairs.

    About you

    To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for swimming and the ability to influence and motivate staff. You will have experience working in wet operations, such as Swimming Teaching, Lifeguarding or Trainer Assessor and be now looking to move into a senior or management position. Excellent communication skills and experience of meeting financial targets and leading a team in your career is also essential. Employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check & reference checks.


    Qualifications Required

     Ideally hold, or be looking to attain a:

    • Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification
    • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
    • First Aid at Work Certificate
    • Pool Plant Operation Qualification
