Social Media & Marketing Co-ordinator - Keswick

We’re expanding our marketing team and are on the hunt for someone with bags of energy, plenty of nous and the ability to string a sentence together!

  • Salary: from £18,000 + (Dependent on experience)
  • Full-time, Permanent
  • Must be able to drive to location
  • Based at Lake District Hotel central office at the Lodore Falls Hotel

This is a great chance to work in our marketing department and be responsible for social media, blogging, online and offline PR, website updates, events promotion and support and much more. We are looking for someone who has a passion for social media with at least a year’s relevant experience. A high level of initiative for creating compelling content plus excellent written communications are essential. Experience in press release writing would be helpful. Solid IT skills are vital as this is predominantly a computer based job.

Get creative and tell us about your passion for hotels, travelling, the great outdoors and the Lake District. Tell us how you have built a following on social media, what campaigns you have run in the past, and generally how great you would be in a role like this!

The job involves, but is not limited to;

Social Media, Blogging & PR

  • Create weekly planner for organic content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube etc; to a minimum of 14 pieces of original content for LDH Facebook page per week and a minimum of 7 pieces of organic content for LDH Instagram per week. With a further 2-3 organic posts per week to each of the remaining 12 facebook pages, plus Mizu & IOTS Instagram pages. 2-3 daily posts to Twitter. Looking after the everyday social media content, replying to messages and comments, gathering content such as interesting stories, taking photos in the hotels, mini films, etc.
  • Ensure all events across the group are set up on main LDH facebook page and individual facebook pages.
  • Tracking social media on a weekly basis to see progress, what has worked, etc
  • Using social media content to build bigger stories for the blog and pushing this out through email.
  • Updating photo galleries on website and social media when new photoshoots are complete
  • Copywriting and proof reading
  • Blog writing – each month write the following blogs; recipe of the month, meet the team, what’s on local and in the hotels, wedding blog
  • Reaching out to bloggers and creating partnerships
  • Push photo competition across social, emails, etc to encourage more entries. Work with marketing team to pick quarterly winner, announce on social and work with James to update webpage.
  • Select 6 month survey winner and work with James to update website.

Web

  • Email marketing – gathering content, writing, proof reading
  • Website – audit website for entire business, make amends where necessary such as text and photos, writing new content for website
  • Updating 3rd party websites and website listings

Advertising, Media & Printed Marketing Materials

  • Proof reading adverts
  • Checking and auditing stationery and print stock levels within each hotel
  • Checking all marketing material is up to date in each hotel on a weekly basis
  • Finding new media to advertise in relevant to business we want to target e.g. car or walking magazines

Marketing admin

  • Working with the marketing manager to plan and manage marketing and advertising across the group
  • Auditing photo gallery database on marketing server
  • Press cuttings
  • Email database uploads
  • Finding, developing and implementing new ideas

Events

  • Ensuring all events and marketing materials are advertised and on show within the hotels in time for specified event
  • Updating the events on our website and ensuring these are promoted in every possible place – social media, e-shots, in-house posters and table talkers, event listings in online and magazines
  • Attending events
  • Help sales managers with support marketing and organising of events

TripAdvisor

  • Reply to positive and negative TripAdvisor comments for the Kings Arms Hotel & LB’s Pizza House

Report

  • Report on a weekly basis to marketing team and directors
