Business Support Assistants - Wigan

Salary:

  • £15,637 - £16,390 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

OR

  • £15,820.19 (NMW21+) per annum (pro-rata for part-time)
  • £16,823.42 (NLW25+) per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

Please note that these posts are currently subject to a TUPE transfer to Wigan Council from 1st April 2021. Therefore the successful candidates will be employed by Wigan Council from this date and the National Living Wage of £9.30 will then be applied in accordance with the TUPE process.

Hours:

  • 2 x Full time – 37 hours per week on a rota system
  • 1 x Full time – 37 hours per week temporary for 6 months on a rota system
  • 1 x Part time – 21 hours per week on a rota system

Roles require a flexible approach and may require evening and weekend working

Base: Robin Park Offices

  • 1 x Temporary – 6 months

About this role:

As a Business Support Assistant, you will be joining a vibrant team at our Robin Park offices working to inspire people to choose healthier, more active and creative lifestyles and provide support to a range of administrative functions.

No two days are the same, through this role you will deal with a variety of people requiring a wide range of our products and services.  From booking health appointments to event tickets, sailing to selling and processing payments, this role certainly has it all.

A passion for providing an inspirational customer experience through listening to our customers’ needs and providing personalised solutions for everyone are essential. 

The challenging role will include the triaging of telephone calls and processing the booking of appointments and activities for participants across all physical activity and weight management programme areas. 

The position also involves day to day clerical and administrative tasks and candidates must have demonstrable experience of working with a range of IT systems including Microsoft Office based products.

Skills and qualities required:

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent ICT skills, work well as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.  In addition, you will also:
  • Have effective listening and communication skills and the ability to motivate others to improve their wellbeing.
  • Time manage effectively, responding to changing priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Have a friendly and professional approach to providing a high-quality telephone and email enquiry service and triage customers effectively according to needs.
  • Work collaboratively with our teams and partners to ensure the best outcome for our customers.
  • Be resilient and stay positive and polite on every call and support the odd frustrated customer.
  • Ensure a comprehensive standard of knowledge of product range to provide detailed advice and guidance on a range of booking enquiries.
  • You will love interacting with people on the phone, have bags of confidence and the desire to deliver great customer service and excellent administration.
